My name is Mel Hooper of the Middletown United Methodist Church, webmaster of its WEC site, Microsoft-Certified, a Circuit Rider (introducing and training others on WEC), and a devoted volunteer to ministry under the guidance of Rev. Robert D. Cook to promote this ministry. I’ve attended your Foundation’s sessions since inception in the United Methodist Churches of New Jersey, I understand to be a test vicinity. May I first and foremost commend you and the Foundation on the energy, efforts and resources expended to promote ministry in a fashion that envisions the future.
I believe I’ve grasped the concept, technology and potential of your program, and I’m convinced ministry via electronic communications and technology IS the means by which we join with all our brothers and sisters in The Body, and effectively promote my personal lifelong desire – peace on Earth, good will towards ALL men and women. Exploring the abilities of the Web Empowered Church, I’m often overwhelmed with its capabilities. Nonetheless, Mr. Kelley offered the opportunity to thank you and your organization for making it available, to wit, this message is intended.
This program has stirred excitement in my Pastor, the man I credit for finding me when I was lost --- for he has stirred excitement in me. An extremely enlightened man, he saw the gift given me and with a plan and a vision, married my gift to your program. While this email will never encompass the joy and fulfilled I now feel by his doing so, I can only do my best to thank you for what’s been provided. I have volunteered to assist Rev. Cook in stirring up the excitement among our congregation. We’re building a team from our congregation to work on our WEC site holding real time online meetings to accomplish our goals. Then, our team with be instrumental in the development of teams in other United Methodist Churches seeking a web presences. It doesn’t get any better than that!
I don’t know what we’d do without Mr. Glenn Kelley, who’s conducted most of the training sessions I’ve attended. His knowledge and expertise soars far above the norm and he has been instrumental is assisting me personally. Through his help, I’ve been able to help others. And this is how it spreads. In my estimation, Glenn needs to find a way to replicate himself so others can enjoy the benefits as I have.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention, express my deep appreciation for, and offer my heart-felt thanks to Mark Stephenson. He took time from his extremely busy schedule to conduct a WEC presentation in New Jersey which I attended with Pastor Cook. I was thrilled to meet him, as I’m sure many were, but refrained from asking him to autograph my copy of his book (you don’t KNOW how much restraint that took! ).
In conclusion, if you haven’t already surmised, we sincerely appreciate all you have done to introduce us to WEC, Mark and Glenn; we sincerely appreciate you and the Foundation and look towards the future in electronic ministry and all you and the Foundation have to promote ministry globally. Joining in The Body … isn’t that really what it’s all about?
